Belief

Had a drink with a friend who was going through a rough patch in his married life. Essentially, rendering a change of said status.

I sent him home. Before he got off the car, he turned to me and said, “If you really want it to work, you’ve got to believe that it can work. For me, I lost that belief. Don’t lose it.”

I let it sink in. Thanks for the advice, was all I could muster.
