It’s been 9 years since our last Europe trip - we had covered Western Europe then.  This time, we decided to explore the Eastern side and squeezed in Greece as our second leg of our Europe 2011 - Revisited trip.


After hearing so much about Prague during that maiden trip a almost a decade, we decided we could not miss Prague if we are going anywhere near Europe.  This was the place to be and the first on our itinerary.


Greece/Athens was also one of the places we’ve always wanted to go, and was a honeymoon option we had dropped for practical reasons.


Budapest was the surprise deal - up till we started flipping the guidebooks on the bus from Prague to Budapest, we didn’t know what to expect.


Bucharest was the wild card and a necessary stop for us to continue with the second leg - we could only find reasonably priced air tickets from Romania to Greece. So we really did not have much expectation.


The Greek islands was part of the package with Greece, since we’ve heard that the islands are simply irresistible. I didn’t know how people would want to island hope in Greece - wouldn’t they get sick of the islands since they usually offer sun, sand and sea. I was so very wrong....
